OUR EMPLOYER RESPONSIBILITY

As a “Partner for Generations”, we believe in a responsible corporate governance that takes into account the needs and requirements of all our employees. To fulfill this responsibility, we have implemented various measures and continuously work to expand and adapt them to current requirements.

OUR FOCUS AREAS AS AN EMPLOYER

HEALTH & OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY

Our company’s success relies significantly on our employees. To protect them, we implement a variety of measures. In addition to safety inspections and staff trainings, we offer our employees benefits such as COVID-19 or flu vaccinations, ergonomic consultations, or eyesight tests. Furthermore, we promote physical fitness through our company gym, team events like relay races and canoe trips, as well as our annual bike challenge. Healthy eating, too, is an important subject for us, which we underline by providing free fruit in the office and publishing healthy recipes and nutrition tips on our social media channels.

DIVERSITY & EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES

We believe that every individual is entitled to the same rights and opportunities. To ensure equal opportunities in our company and facilitate the balance between work and personal life, we offer our employees the option of remote work, part-time work, and flexible working hours. In 2021, we also established an internal Gender Committee to which our employees can turn with their concerns, and which will plan and implement measures to improve internal gender equity and inclusion.

CODE OF CONDUCT

Effective corporate governance is also characterized by ensuring good moral and social interactions. Therefore, it is important for us to openly communicate our values and principles and to demand corresponding behaviour from all employees of Port International. The established codes of conduct for employees and suppliers outline these fundamentals.

Furthermore, the anonymous complaint form on our website provides both employees and stakeholders along the supply chain with the opportunity to communicate complaints, violations, criticisms, or requests anonymously and to demand appropriate countermeasures. A dedicated internal complaints committee reviews all incoming concerns and ensures appropriate action.

RISK ANALYSIS & DUE DILIGENCE

As part of our due diligence, we have been conducting a risk analysis of all product-country combinations since 2022 using the Sustainability Risk Assessment Tools provided by Agriplace. This enables us to assess 18 ecological, social, and governance risks within our supply chain. The insights obtained from this evaluation allow us to report on sustainability risks, prioritize them, and take appropriate actions.

QUALITY ASSURANCE

Port International supplies top-quality fruits from all over the world – a promise our customers can rely on. The quality of our products is crucial for the success of our company and guarantees long-term security for our stakeholders. To ensure this, we rely on meticulous controls from field to customer. If you wonder how this is possible: through close and long-standing relationships with producers, regular visits, on-site quality teams, as well as sample takings and audits.
