BE CLIMATE, the first brand for climate-neutral fruit and vegetables, was launched on the market in 2019. This enables customers and consumers to make a simple, transparent contribution to climate protection.
What makes our BE CLIMATE products climate-neutral? We start by calculating all the CO2 emissions generated by fruit and vegetables from their point of origin to the point of sale. These include emissions from cultivation, packing and logistics processes. We then reduce our CO2 emissions wherever possible and offset unavoidable CO2 emissions in two certified climate protection projects.
For our climate-neutral products, transparency is paramount. The QR code on our BE CLIMATE products takes consumers straight to our brand website www.beclimate.com, where they can easily track their contribution to climate protection.
Our brand Dolce Vitamina consists of tasty berry snacks for the whole family.
Whether blueberries, strawberries, raspberries or blackberries – our products are supplied in child-friendly portions and packaging.
The delicious taste of Dolce Vitamina products begins with our selection of the best varieties – in close cooperation with our seed suppliers and producers. We always pay close attention to the highest quality and freshness by making sure that our products are grown exclusively by selected producers in compliance with our specifications and take the shortest logistic route from the producer to the customer. All our producers comply with the GRASP standard; this stands for “GLOBALG.A.P. Risk Assessment on Social Practice” and serves to establish good agricultural working conditions.
Our Fairnando bananas come to us from sunny South America and the Caribbean.
As pioneers in this field, we have spent more than 20 years promoting socially viable, environmentally friendly banana production, workers’ rights and greater fairness in trade. The certified farm cooperatives and plantations are paid stable prices for their Fairtrade bananas. The goal is to improve their living and working conditions. What’s more, a Fairtrade premium is paid for all products. The farmers form cooperatives and mostly decide for themselves how to use this premium, e.g. to build drinking water fountains, to build or repair roads and schools, for healthcare or for further training.
Our Fairnando bananas are supplied in standard and organic quality.
We have been supplying premium bananas under the brand names Lunita, Golden B and Golden Bio since the late 1960s. Customers can choose between different brands for different markets as well as between standard and organic bananas.
The class 1 bananas come from selected plantations in Latin America and are Rainforest Alliance certified. Our own quality management staff based locally and in Europe monitor the quality of the bananas from plant to ripeness.
These first-class bananas are packed loose or in cluster bags.
