BE CLIMATE initiates “Healthy Banana Contest”

BE CLIMATE bananas – healthy for the people and the climate. BE CLIMATE takes on this important aspect and starts an Instagram campaign in Belgium designed to motivate consumers to show their “Healthy Banana Moment”. Whether during sports or on their way to work, BE CLIMATE offers a healthy and handy snack for the buyers and enables them to make an easy contribution to climate protection: the purchase of 1kg of bananas helps to compensate 0.94 kg of CO2 on average. Two selected climate protection projects benefit from this compensation with 50% each.

“Many consumers do not only take care of their own health but value sustainable products, too. We create the necessary balance between the consumers’ needs and a healthy climate,” says Mike Port who, together with his team, supplies climate neutral bananas to the Belgian supermarket chain Delhaize. “With BE CLIMATE, we keep our finger on the pulse and are already planning to introduce many more sustainable products to the fruit and vegetable ranges offered by the supermarkets.”

The Instagram campaign also features a competition and offers “healthy” prizes to the winners:

  • Bamboo bike
  • Fitness tracker
  • Yoga mat made from biodegradable natural rubber

The competition starts on 13 August 2020 and will additionally be advertised at the POS with a
promotion sticker on the products. Further information can be found on
https://www.beclimate.com/healthy-banana-moment/ and on the Instagram account of BE CLIMATE.

We want to move forward and set an example with BE CLIMATE, the first climate neutral brand for
fresh fruit and vegetables. An example for a healthy and sustainable treatment of our food and the
environment. BE CLIMATE offers the consumers an uncomplicated method to actively support climate
protection.
